WELCOME TO HI-JIVE
Hello! Hi-Jive is a fun and friendly Modern Jive freestyle held once a month (usually on the third Friday) in the Sussex area. Our normal venue is the Henfield Hall (Coopers Way, Henfield BN5 9EQ) but there might be very occasional exceptions.
Dancers of any level of experience are welcome. We open our doors at 7.45pm and dance through to 11.15pm. Entrance is £10 cash on the door. Please note that we currently cannot accept electronic payments.

BECOME A MEMBER
If you'd like to become a member, and so go on our mailing list, if you are on Facebook, please go to our page and request membership. VENUE
​Our venue is the wonderful Henfield Hall (Coopers Way, Henfield, West Sussex, BN5 9EQ), and it has a large car park right opposite and a lovely sprung dance floor.

A bar is not available but you are welcome to bring your own tipple, but please dispose of used cans and bottles thanks. (There is a Sainsbury's a 1-minute walk from the Hall).
EXPERIENCE
Alison, John and Nick all bring different and yet complementary skill sets to Hi-Jive. The first person that you will meet when you come to our dances is Alison. Hi-Jive benefits not only from her abilities as a company administrator and accountant, but also her friendly front of house manner that ensures a warm welcome for all.
John worked for many years in the audio business, so Hi-Jive's sound (and light) is second to none. Listen to how crisp it sounds.
Jive DJ Nick has been deejaying for over fifteen years, and has a passion for finding and playing the very best music for jive, to help everyone have a great evening and keep them on the dance floor all night long!

ABOUT US
Friends Alison, John and Nick had been dancing modern jive for several years when they decided that they'd like to set up a regular freestyle dance so that they could dance with their friends to music that they themselves really enjoyed. In 2018, they created Hi-Jive, initially running events at St. Peter's Community Centre in Hangleton, Hove, which stands in the shadow of the West Blatchington windmill . They swapped a Saturday night slot for a regular third Friday of the month when they moved to the King Alfred Ballroom in Hove in early 2023 until December that year, with some memorable nights. They switched to their current home of the Henfield Hall, and started holding freestyles there in February 2024.
